Medium-velocity burners are the burners that the POC (products of combustion) velocity from the burner exit peaks at 40 m/s. These burners are usually used in melting, steel preheating and hot gas generators. Although usage of these burners is widespread, care should be taken while setting combustion parameters. One of the drawbacks is starting them with air pressure less than design pressure. This leads to POC velocity reduction converting the burner to a low-velocity type. Sometimes they are used instead of high-velocity burners, that eventually leads to non-uniform heating. These burners are presented in single and dual fuel mode. Also, the burner head is resistant to high temperatures.
OPG (O) BURNERS are nozzle-mix dual fuel burners (natural gas-heavy/light oil). The upper part of the burner is interchangeable to change the fuel. OPG (O) burners are generally used on rotary furnaces (such as cast iron and zinc melting rotary furnaces), steel preheat furnaces, aluminum and glass melting furnaces.
